USPS created Informed Address to help mailers derive more value from marketing mail:

  • Convenience: Mailers can expand their mailing lists easily and for free, saving both time and money
  • Privacy: Mailers can help protect consumer’s privacy and PII (personally identifiable information) by using anonymized mailing addresses
  • Targeting: Mailers can target their mail to reach high-value customers and increase conversion rates
  • Challenge

Develop high-fidelity prototypes from user stories with required acceptance criteria and research from third-party partners in order gain approval to proceed to Pilot Program testing.

  • Solution

This pilot was developed to give a mailer the ability to upload a list of email addresses and convert them into single-use encrypted labels, which can be used to deliver a piece of mail.

Through Agile development principles, high-fidelity prototypes were developed from user stories with required acceptance criteria and research from third-party partners.
